Flying Scorpions
Born from the aftermath of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster on April 26, 1986, the Flying Scorpions emerged as a mythical sonic force, an electronic mutation spreading its hypnotic sound across the globe. These creatures, metaphorically taking the form of an experimental music project, have expanded their reach by approximately 60 kilometers per year, threatening to envelop the planet in an uncontrollable auditory invasion.
Primarily active in autumn, Flying Scorpions are known for their devastating effect on mushroom hunters, luring them into a trance with a siren-like drone. This entrancing sound, generated by their vibrating wings, compels listeners into ecstatic dance frenzies, often leading to an ultimate fate of overdancing. The typical victim of this sonic attack is a vividly dressed, wide-eyed being, lost in the music’s psychedelic grasp.
As the Flying Scorpion sound crossed into Finland, it rapidly infected the minds of the country's most devoted electronic musicians. Among those who fell under its spell were Pepe Kosminen (Squaremeat) and Tim Thick (Texas Faggott), who became the leading conduits for this evolving musical phenomenon. Together, they formed the Flying Scorpion family, a collective dedicated to spreading this chaotic and otherworldly sound further into the digital atmosphere. With occasional reinforcement from fellow sonic alchemists Francoise Faggott and Pentti Slayer, their mission continues—to unleash the psychedelic infestation of intergalactic proportions.
Prepare for auditory mutation. Resistance is futile.
